I bought 5 different brands of socks at Rays camping about a year ago priced from $6 a pair up to $20. All of these socks have either lost their elasticity and fall down or have fallen to pieces. I have socks that were made in Australia that were issued to me 20 years ago and have been worn 100's of times and are still as good as new, surely somewhere in the world they still make good socks for work boots. The cheapest socks I bought from Rays last about 10 - 20 uses then throw them out, it would probably be cheaper in the long run to rent socks by the day rather than buy them from Rays.

this is a site called sock dreams- it was started by a husband and wife, both of whom had trouble finding good quality socks- i believe they're from the pacific northwest too, so you know they're looking for something sturdy.
While the bulk of their products are women's over the knee and cute-type socks, they do have a selection of high quality men's socks- my husband is a delivery driver, so he's always in work boots, and goes through socks like crazy, and he usually wears two pairs at once- but ever since I bought him a few pairs from there, he's been just wearing one pair (that's saying something for a cleveland winter).
They're pretty cheap, and they have free shipping- but it may be in the us only.

You might want to consider ankle socks if you have low top shoes.It can also apply to high top shoes.It's always best to hide your socks if your wearing shorts with tennis shoes. You don't wanna look like a nerd. You also wanna wear black ones it you have dark shoes. Never wear white shoes with black socks or vise versa. This is a fashion NO NO!
My brother and husband also wear ankle socks so son't feel bad. Wear what's comfortable for you.

What can I do to get used to them before camp

It weird because you're used to having taller socks. You can get used to them by wearing them with your shoes around the house before camp.

It won't kill you. I do everything in Teva sandals with no socks, from hiking hard slippery sierra trails to water activities. No problem.

Try Target and Kohl's, they have a good selection of colored and designed socks.

No shows are more comfortable i general so I'd say go for them, but crew socks are good if your in the woods or whatnot when hiking at camp.

My advice? Get both.

Would also stick to grey. I find grey doesn't look as dirty as fast and you can keep them longer wash after wash. White just get's too dirty looking.

Im a guy. It is mostly outdoors (playing sports, goin to beach, A & C,drama, lots of SUN!!!) There is a little bit of woods.
