Each service has their own "uniform bag" so it depends upon the service.
That incident may have happened 40 years ago but would not happen today. Drill instructors are hard-asses, but they are not physically abusive. If you dropped out of formation today, you’d "pay" in push-ups or extra duty (like cleaning the latrine with a tooth-brush, a favorite for decades!), not with your head through a pane of glass.
You quickly learn now to "schedule" your visits to the latrine so it rarely becomes an issue. I got on track with a 4:45 AM dump while in basic back in 1977 and that schedule continues to this day.
Edit: If you’re not a Sergeant, you can be forgiven for misspelling Sergeant. On the other hand, if I misspell it, I’m toast. (But abbreviating it as Sgt. is one way around it!)

Usually , three pairs, but it depends on whether your training will be at a "northern latitude" base camp.
Secondly, this story is cr*p, you have to ask permission, for most activity, and will almost certainly be embarrassed by the drill sergeants replies, ( all, at full volume ), but they are not permitted to allow this form of harrassment to happen, this is the new "army" all "caring" and "friendly", society has moved on, and the army has been forced to follow suit.
But do not expect the sergeant Majpor to kiss you goodnight, the job of these people is to pressurise you, to see if you can deal with it, if you can not, you will be shown the door, you are a liability, and will get your people killed, or cause an action to fail, a loss of territory, or life to regain it…you can learn to deal with this, most people can, just remember, nothing, not even the bad, lasts forever, and the old joke " it means f*cking nothing", nothing does.!!!

Sounds like a fake story to me/ The Drill Sgt. will allow for plenty of bathroom breaks. Nobody is expected to "hold it" until they burst…..Hey…your alwayssssss in the company of 50 other guys, just like you.
As for the uniforms you will get 4 sets of the BDU’s, 2 pairs of combats boots and about 6 of everything else (undies, t-shirts, socks, etc…) You’ll get two complete sets of Class A uniforms. If you need more you’ll be expected to buy it at your own expense at the Clothing Issue store.

well when you join the army and ship off at bct you are issued what we call a basic issue. We do not wear bdu’s anymore so that consists of four sets of acu, atleast two pairs of desert brown boots, atleast five sets of undergarment i.e. underwear, shirts, six pairs of green boot socks and your dress uniform items as well. This is a rough estimate but when your issued all that gear you will recieve what we call a "clothing record" make sure what ever you clothing record states you have that you physically have it. the army is notorious for annotating things that dont exist.
now as far as the bathroom story, yes there may be somtimes where you have to wait to go to the bathroom due to the limited time and the great amount of training you have. I will guarantee that the story you heard is either from way back in the day when people did that nonsense or on the other hand it is a fake story. The army has gone through great lengths to make training as professional as possible.
hope this helps
